I Wish...

...there was a way I could do cottage industry and earn enough extra money at it to offset the costs of living so far from my job.

My crochet...

My jewelry...

And candles...

Or candles like these...these are not originals that I did, but I can do this...

In the long term, I want to purchase and refinish and resell furniture like this...and once we move into this house I'll have the room to do it...this is not an original; I got this from another site, to show as an example of what I have in mind...this would look so sweet in a little girl's bedroom...

I would love to do all this at home and earn money at it. I am not sure how I can do that and earn enough money to put some bucks back, possibly for a new car in a couple of years, gas back and forth to worth, etc...

Competition on Etsy is very, very stiff. I'd have to just create, somehow, a business of my own and get the word out there some other way...must do research....

Gray Scarf

I think I like this simple pattern. Worked it up kinda by accident.

Silver Dollar Scarf

So I decided to try a variation on the Silver Dollar Scarf, the pattern for which is found on the Fiber Flux YouTube channel. I used a variegated yarn on a sc row, and a solid yarn on the dc rows. This is what I got...

Not the best photo, admittedly but hey...

A few notes about doing the pattern like this...

First, I carried the non-working yarn across the row as I worked. That can be a bit of a pain, unless one is willing to break the yarn every row and have a billion tails to sew in later.

But if you work the scarf longways, you don't have to carry the yarn across the row, because you can break the yarn at the end of each row and incorporate the tails as fringes. :)

Food for thought.
