Tunisian - In Rows!

OK I think I have the hang of Tunisian simple stitch in rows. I was going to make this a scarf, but I think I'm going to keep going and make it a blanket.

I started my pattern as shown in this video:

Granny C2C Afghan

I'm working on this now. This is a good pattern. I got the idea from Zooty Owl's granny c2c cowl pattern; click here for the pattern. I did modify it slightly; Zooty Owl didn't work a ch 1 in between each of the 3 dc clusters, but I did. So far, I like this pattern and it should prove to make a great afghan!

EDIT: I noticed that Clare at Bobwilson123 also has a video on this same pattern! Here's the video:

Checkerboard Afghan

Two photos of a checkerboard afghan I'm working on. I've run out of the multicolor yarn; later this week I'll go to Michael's and get a couple more skeins. It's their Craft Smart yarn in Sangria colorway. I decided to photograph this on the back of my car to show the width of the afghan. I think this will look kinda cool when I'm done. :)

I got the pattern from this video:

Scrappy Steps Afghan

I'm stealing an idea from Beth in TX again and making a Scrappy Steps afghan. I got the pattern from her site. Here's pics of my afghan so far:

I hope it washes up soft. Some of the yarn I'm using is a bit scratchy so we'll see how that goes. Otherwise, how interesting and odd this will look! Like an explosion in a yarn factory!

HAPPY Afghan

OK this is my first attempt at a corner to corner (c2c) afghan. I'm loving these colors and it's making me sing that Happy song in my head as I stitch. I know I'm going to have to get more pink and red yarn for this, but that's ok. It's part of my effort to burn up stash and only buy yarns for projects I've already started, rather than buying random yarn and not knowing what to do with it when I get it home because I had no project in mind for it when I bought it. LOL! I do that entirely too often.

So it's my HAPPY afghan!

Crochet Challenge 2014

So the Crochet Challenge for 2014 is to make a "mood blanket." The way I'm doing it is to make 1 granny square per day in colors that reflect my mood. Today I chose yellow and white because these represent joy (yellow) and peace (white) to me.

Some folks are doing 1 square or 1 row on the blanket per week. I figured I'd get a nicer blanket if I use 365 squares.

I hope I can do this. I hope I don't have to drop too much money on new yarn for this.

White Blanket

This is a large white blanket I'm working on:

It's heavy and warm too. That's why I don't work on it much. But there we go!
