Granny C2C Afghan

I'm working on this now. This is a good pattern. I got the idea from Zooty Owl's granny c2c cowl pattern; click here for the pattern. I did modify it slightly; Zooty Owl didn't work a ch 1 in between each of the 3 dc clusters, but I did. So far, I like this pattern and it should prove to make a great afghan!

EDIT: I noticed that Clare at Bobwilson123 also has a video on this same pattern! Here's the video:

Must Do This

I just found this link: Dinner Plate Wall Clock

I need to start doing crafts like THIS!!

A Note....

....on copyright law.

This is where I give in to my ugly, fire-breathing dragon side, the side of me that reminds people that there are limitations and laws that restrict what people such as crafters can do.

I just saw, over on Repeat Crafter Me, this post. Sarah has made these DARLING stitch markers that are inspired by her favorite coffee retailer, Starbucks. On the post she included instructions on how to make the markers if people like them and want their own.

Well, I noticed in the comments that people are asking her to make them and sell them...

Water Bottle Bracelet

HERE is something I can incorporate crochet into! I can crochet a bunch of chain in interesting colors - say, black and yellow - and then wrap it around the plastic and decorate it up! WOOO!

Oh man, so many crafts and so little time....

Skinny Scarf

OK over on FiberFlux I found THIS pattern for a skinny scarf. I really liked it, thought "oh that looks easy so I'll make it," and I grabbed some yarn and began stitching.

Here's what I have so far:

The problem I seem to have with my scarf is how it tilts uphill to the right. I'm not sure why it's doing that. Her scarf stitches look perfectly straight and I'm not sure what I've done to make mine tilted.

Got any ideas? Or should I just go with it and incorporate that into my scarf?

That said, if I can get this figured out, I had a GREAT idea with this. Stitch up a whole boatload of these in various colors - say I do some in this sangria color, and some in red, and some in violet, etc - and then find a way to sew them or crochet them together to make an afghan! Sort of like a granny square afghan or mile-a-minute afghans. I may try that with some scrap yarn and do a couple of sample or test strips. I think I'll do that this weekend...

Milk Fiber Yarn?

Took myself up to St. Richard's Episcopal for Holy Eucharist on Sunday. Got to conversing with one woman about prayer shawls. She has lent me a book about prayer shawls, and in this book I noticed a reference to milk fiber yarn. I got curious about this so decided to look it up.

Milk Yarn? How Does That Work part 1

Milk Yarn part 2

Well well well. Learn something new every day. Who'd have thought of spinning thread and making yarn from milk proteins? Well, if someone can spin yarn from cat hair I suppose milk yarn isn't that odd.

We'll see how things go with the prayer shawl thing. I was told there's no wrong way to do it, yet at the same time the shawls have to be up to certain standards (of softness and sturdiness). Red Heart Super Saver yarn just isn't soft enough to use for these prayer shawls; Lion Brand Homespun or Caron Simply Soft or Red Heart Soft are better yarns to use. Hmmm.

Pattern Link: Joseph's Coat Scarf

I really like this pattern: Joseph's Coat Scarf

So easy, and such a great stash-buster project, far better than the fringe scarf I made. LOL! :)
